Mrs. Barnard's Kin Dies in Illinois
Beaver Dam - Avery Gaither, 65, died in the Veterans Hospital, in Danville, Ill., March 13. He was a native of Millwood, and a member of the Millwood Church of Christ. He was an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Tassie Gaither of Beaver Dam; four daughters, Mrs. Maurice Burden and Miss Barbara Gaither, both of Beaver Dam; Mrs. Lennie Barnard of Central City, Mrs. James Reid of Rockport; five sons, Hontas and Wilbur B. Gaither, both of Louisville; Jack and Gene, both of Fort Rucker, Ala.; Joe Gaither, U.S. Army in Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Douglas, of Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. L.E. Green, Whiting, Ind.; Mrs. Claude Quisenberry, of Rockport, Ind.; Mrs. Noah Ward, Hartford; one brother, Curtice Gaither, Hammond, Ind.; four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at 10 a.m. in Beaver Dam. Burial in Kelley Cemetery, Grayson County.

Mrs. Mattie Garrett to Be Buried Friday
Greenville - Mrs. Mattie Frances Garrett, 67, died at her home on Greenville Route 2 Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. following a brief illness. She was a member of the New Harmony General Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 2 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Sharp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. John Delk and Mrs. Wendall McKinney of Lewisburg, Mrs. Leslie Sweeney of Hopkinsville; four sons, Freeman and Raymond Garrett of Greenville, Thurman Garrett of Louisville, James Garrett of Kirkmansville; sister, Mrs. Maude Garrett and half-sister, Mrs. Att Settles, both of Clifty; half-brother, (Red) John McGhee of Elkton; 18 grandchildren, five great granchildren.
