Davis, Henry L.

Henry L. Davis, 59, Dies Near Penrod

Penrod - Henry Lauden Davis, 59, formerly of Beech Creek, died at his home near Penrod Tuesday, July 30 at 11:45 p.m. following a lingering illness. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted today (Thursday) at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Melvin Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Davis; three daughters, Mrs. Margery Ribber of Dayton, Ohio, Miss Dorothy Nell Davis of Penrod, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Rowland of New Carlisle, Ohio; five sons, Bobby Neal Davis of New Carlisle, Ohio, Kenneth Wayne and Carl Truman Davis of Dayton, Ohio, Charles Edward Davis of East Alton, Ill., Jack Davis of Elkton; three brothers, Howard Davis of Greenville, Hershel Davis of Beech Creek, Elmer Davis of Drakesboro Route 1; eight grandchildren.

DeArmond, Connie Columbus

C.C. DeArmond Dies on June 18
Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, for Connie Columbus DeArmond, 64, of Lewisburg.

Mr. DeArmond was a member of Mt. Moriah Church of Christ. He died following a long illness at the Logan County Hospital on June 18.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola DeArmond, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, both of Lewisburg; three brothers, Ralph DeArmond of Prescott, Ariz., John DeArmond and Demby DeArmond of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Opal Goode of Penrod Route 1; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. DeWayne Spivey officiated at funeral services and burial was in Hughes Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

Dennis, Barnard Wickliffe

Barnard Dennis dies October 29

Coralville, Iowa - Mr. Barnard W. Dennis, 66, of Coralville, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 29, at the Iowa City Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Dennis of Coralville, Iowa; two sons, Sonny Dennis and Donnie Dennis both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ron Heidbreder of Danville, Iowa and Mrs. Gary Kinsinger of Coralville, Iowa; three grandchildren; seven brothers, Marion Dennis of Greenville, Joe Dennis of White Plains, Howard Dennis also of White Plains, Wesley Dennis of Route 1, Clifty, Herschel Dennis of Gilbertsville, KY; Boyce Dennis of Vista, CA, and Roy Dennis of Canton, OH; two sisters, Dorothy Swain of Drakesboro and Thelma Thurman of Island, KY.

Services were Friday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m., at the Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City, Iowa. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville, Iowa.

DePoyster, Hettie

Heart attack is fatal Monday, Jan. 4, to Mrs. Elmer DePoyster, Central City

Mrs. Hettie DePoyster, 63, widow of the late Elmer DePoyster, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward L. Henry, Central City, Monday, Jan. 4, at 8 a.m. following a heart attack. She was born in Butler County July 6, 1896. Mrs. DePoyster was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving besides her daughter, Mrs. Henry, is a granddaughter, one brother L. R. Hunt, Sr., of Nashville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. F. Bennett Hulse. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Her husband operated a grocery store in Central City for many years and later was a produce company salesman.
