Owens, Mrs. Alice -73 years old, died last Wednesday at
her home on
Cannon Creek after an illness of several months. She is survived by her
husband and several children. The funeral was held last Thursday at Cannon
Creek and interment followed in the Cannon Creek cemetery under direction of
Brandenburg and Gibson.

OWENS, CHARLES EDWARD "ED" -MIDDLESBORO - Charles Edward
"Ed" Owens died Saturday morning Nov. 6, 2004, near his home. He
was born March 31, 1931, in Middlesboro, the son of the late
Charlie Owens and Gracie Shoffner Owens. A member of the
Binghamtown Baptist Church, he served in the United States Army
during the Korean Conflict. He retired as warehouse manager at
the Middlesboro Coca-Cola Bottling Works after 43 years, and he
served as Bell County Magistrate from 1977 until 1985. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son,
Timothy James "Buck" Owens; and a sister Barbara Owens Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 50-years, Lois Irwin Owens; sons,
Charles Edward "Chuck" Owens and wife Carolyn Sue of
Middlesboro; son Scott Owens of Middlesboro; grandson Josh Owens
of Middlesboro; sisters, Bessie Owens Chambers of Lavonia, GA.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. His
special friends were his coffee buddies at McDonald's and Dairy
Queen. Funeral services wil be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at
Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. William Boyd Bingham
presiding. Music will be provided by Jimmy Jackson and Dickie
Siler. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m.
Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Josh Owens, Bruce Ross, Eric Ross,
David Turner, Eddie Turner, Jack Turner, and Smokey Miller.
Visitation will be at the Creech Funeral Home Monday, from
5:30-8 p.m. Arrangements by Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro.

Owens, Clifford Lee
-60 of Homer, died suddenly Sat. Sept 28, 1991 at Albion
Community Hospital. He was born on Jan 25, 1931 in Bell County,
Kentucky to Nathaniel and Reda Owens. He married Lillian Robbins
on June 22, 1957 in Bell County. She preceded him in death on
March 29, 1991. He came to this area in 1959, and was formerly
employed by Corning Glass Works and later at Midwest Foundry in
Coldwater as a maintenance worker, retiring due to disability. He
enjoyed auto mechanics. Surviving are: a son, James "Doug" Owens
of Battle Creek; three daughters, Mrs. Ada George of Homer, Mrs.
Greg (Rhonda) Hawley of Albion, and Mrs. Sam (Brenda) Allen of
Homer; seven grandchildren; six brothers, Robert Owens of
Tazewell, Tenn., Luther Owens and Nathaniel Owens of Albion, Dewey
Owens of Middlesboro, Kentucky. Willis Owens of Homer, and Johnny
Owens of Concord; and two sisters, Alma Gibson of Morristown,
Tenn., and Elizabeth Bowler of Jackson. He was preceded in death
by a sister, Mary Alice. Graveside services will be held on Tues.,
Oct. 1, 1991 at 10 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive
friends on Mon., Sept. 30 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Faith
Community Baptist Church in Albion. Arrangements are by the Albion
Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels, Inc. Memorial

He was born March 5, 1970, the son of Luther and Bonnie Owens. Survivors
include his wife, Teresa Owens of Middlesboro, two daughters, Stephanie
Owens and Kacey Owens, both of Middlesboro, one sister, Brenda (John)
Wilder of Middlesboro, two nephews, Eric and Josh Wilder of Middlesboro;
one niece, Caitlin Wilder; grandmother, Lucy Underwood of Middlesboro, and
a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Tuesday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Wayne Givens and
Richard Barnett presiding. Music will be provided by Teresa Savior and
Charlotte Brooks. Interment will be in the Yellow Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Stacy Good, Tommy Elliott, Eric Wilson,
Ray Shackleford, Luster Owens, and Kenny Saylor. The family will receive
friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday a Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is
in charge of arrangements.

Owens, Matt -84, a resident of Middlesboro, passed away Friday, Dec.
3, 1993 at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1909 in Bell County, son of the
late Will Owens and Alice Evans Owens. He was a member of the East
Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a member of the men's Sunday
School class and an usher for 25 years. He was a retired coal miner and a
member of the UMWA since 1932. He is survived by his wife of 60 years,
Maurine Johnson Owens, Middlesboro; son Alva Lewis Owens, Fairborn, Ohio;
daughter Christine Owens Vogt, Louisville; brother Fate Owens, Middlesboro;
grandchildren Joseph E. Vogt, Mary Sebastian, Michael Owens, Mark Owens,
Susie Owens, Larry Dare and Paulette Mauztec; great-grandchildren Erica,
Melissa, Christine and David. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Creech
Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Music will be provided by
Jimmy Jackson, Dickie Siler and Linda Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be
members of the men's Sunday School class of the East Cumberland Avenue
Baptist Church. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family

Owens, Nathaniel -age 59, of
Route 2, city died January 4, 1966, at 10:30 p.m. after a long illness. Mr.
Owens was born September 19, 1906, in Bell County, KY and was married to
Reeda Owens who proceeded him in death. He had lived in Middlesboro all of
his life and was employed as a coal miner, retiring in 1959. Mr. Owens was
a member of the Meldrum Baptist Church. Survivors are seven sons, Wheeler,
Dewey and John of Middlesboro, Luther, Fate and Nathaniel Jr., of Albion,
Mich; and Clifford of Homer, Mich; daughters Alma Gibson of Middlesboro and
Elizabeth Owens of Michigan; three brothers, Wheeler Owens, Fate Owens and
Matt Owens of Middlesboro, two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Lucy Richards
of Middlesboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday,
January 8, 1966, at the Meldrum Baptist Church. Burial will be in the
Barnett Cemetery at Cannon Creek. The body will remain at the funeral home
chapel until time for the service. The family will receive friends
beginning at 1 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Junior Barton, Curt
Barton, Creed Barnett, George Wyatt, Marion Wyatt, Eugene West, Wade
Osborne, Lee Osborne, Roy Scott and Claude Barnett. Sunset Funeral Chapel is
in charge.

Owens, Willis F. -age 58, of Homer, died Tuesday,
December 7, 1999 at
home. Mr. Owens was born January 09, 1941 in Bell County, KY to Nathaniel
and Reda Owens. On December 8, 1968 he married Judy (Patrick). He had been
employed at Calhoun Foundry for 32 years and had lived most of his life in
Homer. He was a collector of model cars and knives and he enjoyed walking,
bicycling and woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Judy; daughter, Mary Owens
of Albion; sons, Bob (Melissa-wife) Owens of Homer and Mark Owens of Albion;
sister Elizabeth Stevens of Albion; three brothers, Luther Owens of Albion,
John Owens of Concord and Nathaniel Owens of Albion, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be
held at the Faith Community Church in Albion on Friday, December 10 from 10
a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Funeral services will be held
Friday, December 10, 1999 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Melvin Howard officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements
