Start Your Trigg County ResearchTrigg County is part of the KYGenWeb Project's ongoing effort to preserve local history and make family research accessible. Here you'll find county records, transcriptions, photographs, and volunteer-contributed materials designed to help you explore the families who lived, worked, and passed through this part of western Kentucky. Trigg County was formed in 1820 on Kentucky's western frontier, bordered by the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers. Early families came mainly from Virginia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee, settling on fertile bottomlands, timbered ridges, and the river routes that shaped trade and travel. Cadiz became the county seat and remains the center for local records today. Research HighlightsThis site brings together core materials helpful to Trigg County researchers. You'll find cemetery listings, obituaries, marriage records, local history notes, military information, and contributed family files. Because families often crossed county lines, you may also want to check neighboring records in Christian, Caldwell, Lyon, and Marshall Counties. |
