- Kentucky Soldiers Aboard the 1865 Sultana ~ contains the name, rank, company and regiment of 180 paroled (Union) U.S. Civil War soldiers from Kentucky who were aboard the steamship Sultana when her boilers exploded early on the morning
of April 27, 1865 just nine miles north of Memphis, TN on the Mississippi River.
