Daniel COLBERT b.?, d. 1814 estate settlement was dated 14 June 1814 Henry Co. KY, m. 1) - ? -, m.2) Margaret CALHOUN 18 Oct 1804 in Shelby Co KY. Daniel is listed on the 1789 Jefferson Co KY tax list, 1800 Shelby Co KY tax list, the 1809 - 1814 tax lists for Henry Co KY, Had children Daniel Jr. b. 1792, John, Marrifield (of Trimble Co KY) b.1799, Lucinda, & probably more. Daniel Jr. m.1) Mary FLINT25 Mar. 1815 in Knox Co IN, 2) Delilah ABBOTT 6 Oct 1834 in Oldham Co. KY, 3) Phebe RICHARDSON 18 Oct. 1840 in Hancock Co KY where he lived until his death in 1862. Daniel Jr. had 17 children from these 3 marriages. Would like to correspond with any one researching this line.

Shelby Co families - CLARKSON, DENTON and MILES. Wm and Barbara Clarkson had most of their children in Shelby. Reuben and Elizabeth (DUVALL?) Miles their are buried near Bagdad on Crawford Farm. Any info is appreciated.

Would appreciate any information on the FINNEY, CHAPPELL, EARLY, COCHRAN /COGHORN and MAKEMSON families who were in Fleming County from about 1784 to 1820. Thomas Finney died about Oct 1807 in Fleming County. His widow's name was Margaret. Their son James Finney first married Mary Coghorn/Cochran 9 Feb 1797 Mason County, second married Sarah Jane Makemson 18 Aug 1808 Fleming County; son Samuel Finney married Elleanor Chappell 20 Jan 1815 Fleming County; daughter Sarah Finney married Lewis Early 22 Apr 1828 Gibson County, Indiana. Additional children were Alexander Finney, Andrew Finney, Jane Finney, and Thomas Finney. Margaret, her children, and their families moved to Gibson County, Indiana in 1819. These families also had connetions to Harrison, Shelby, Hardin, Hancock and Breckenridge Counties.

Need parents and/or siblings or any info on Laton HAWES, b:abt 1818,m: 1838 Shelby Co to Mary RUSSELL, think she may be dau of Levi RUSSELL. His Guardian,Wm. LEE gave consent for marriage, so Laton HAWES' father probably dec'd by that date. Can find no Court records making Wm.LEE his Guardian however. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Searching for info on parents / family of John G. JONES of Shelby County. John married Frances Corrilla MONTGOMERY on 11 Oct 1853 in Shelby Co. Frances was the daughter of Thomas MONTGOMERY. Believe Thomas died sometime after that and oldest son John MONTGOMERY became head of household. John and Frances would both have been born 1830-1833 judging from Census records. Following children of John are known: John Thomas Morgan, Mary Wright, Eva, Susan.

Henderson LAWRENCE married Susannah ANDERSON 1797 in Louisa Co. VA. This couple emigrated to Garrard Co. KY about 1806. They lived there until about 1820 and then relocated to Lincoln Co. KY. By 1830, they and their children were in Shelby Co. KY. They probably died in that county. Known children were:Martha LAWRENCE who married Scarlett SMITH; Elizabeth LAWRENCE who married (1)John MARSHALL, (2)George WARD; and Archibald LAWRENCE. Looking for family of Caroline POWELL, born about 1845 near Louisville. She lived on a plantation and came from a large family. She had about 8 brothers, all but one joining the Union Army in Civil War. She was disinherited when she ran away and married Thomas O'Grealey (various spellings). She was widowed twice,married a third time. Married names: O'GREALEY, COWLES, WELDEN. Any help appreciated. Sharon

Seeking information on MCDONALDs of Meade Co., KY. Alexandria MCDONALD b. 1807, Perth, Scotland, married Mary POWELL in 1835, b. Sept 15, 1815, Shelby Co., KY, d. Dec. 1, 1912, buried Powell Cemetery, near Brandenburg. I know they had a daughter, Catherine MCDONALD Jones b. Sept 13, 1838, d. Dec 12, 1931, also buried with her husband and children at Powell Cemetery. Need more info about any other children and how Thomas Alva MCDONALD, b. 1874, KY, d. 1959, Evansville, IN, buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, is connected to Alexandria. Info on Alexandria seems to be from a bio book "Early Settlers of Meade Co., Ky. and Descendants of John POWELL and John (Jackie) JOHNSON ", dated pre-1937. Sound familiar to anyone?

Seeking information about Abraham WELLS. He probably died in Shelby Co., KY. If before 1792, it would probably have been Nelson Co. One of his daughter's - Mary married William COLLINGS in 1789 in Nelson Co. and their first child was born in Shelby Co. in 1792. The two counties may be explained by the formation of the new county of Shelby. The family may not have moved. I realize this is sketchy information but I have hit a brick wall. Seeking the birthdate & place of Jesse Mc CLAIN. He married Mary RUSH in Shelby Co., KY in 1819. Jesse died in Parke Co., IN ca. 1874. Known children include Morgan (married Mary Jane JOHNSON), Elizabeth married Harman PULLIAM), and Emaline (married James M. JOHNSON). Jesse & Mary lived in Shelby Co. until ca. mid 1830s at which time they moved to Parke Co., IN about the same time as the COLLINGS, JOHNSON, and NUTGRASS families. Thank you for your assistance.

I am looking for information on TRACY, John and FORE, Sarah. John TRACY was born in 1787 in Rutherford CO. No. Carolina and moved to Henry(Shelby)CO, KY around 1796 with his father and mother Nathaniel TRACY and Mary TIDWELL. Sarah FORE, is said to be daughter of Snipe FORE of No Carolina.
