Robertson County, Kentucky Deed Book 3, pp. 428 & 429

This deed made and entered into by and between Solomon and Malcom McKenzie, Sarah Jane McKenzie & Elizabeth McKenzie and Roan Philips of the first part, and Ruth Ann Day of the second part, all of the County of Robertson and state of Kentucky. Witnesseth that the said McKenzie and Philips for and in consideration of the sum of One thousand and seventy five dollars, paid and to be paid as follows, to wit: Four hundred and fifty dollars cash in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, $450.00 is to be paid on or before the 16th day of March 1881, and the remainder $175.00 is to be paid on or before the 1st day of March 1882, cash, of the two notes aforesaid to bear 6% from maturity till paid, which payments are evidenced by the notes of William C. Day executed to Winfield Buckler who is the holder of a mortgage by assignment from B. G. Willis, J. A. Buckler and J. L. Galbraith on the land hereafter mentioned. The parties of the first part McKenzie and Philips hereby sell and convey to the said Ruth Ann Day her heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract of landlying in the County of Robertson and State of Kentucky, Beginning at a stone in the center of the Brierly Ridge road and near the school house, thence with the center of the road S16 W, 10 poles, S 39 W, 50 poles, S 51 W, 8 92/100 poles S 16 W, 43 32/100 poles, S 33 W, 28 32/100 S 53 W, 26 44/100 to a stone in a drain thence S 56 Thence E, 13 28/100 to a stone thence S 21 E, 18 48/100 poles to a stone, thence W 89 E, 35 poles to a stone in the Camlee line thence N 33 E, 41 68/100 poles to a stone on the ridge, thence W 78 E, 12 poles to a small red oak now dead, thence S 44 E 34 poles to an ash now down near the branch thence N 51 E, 16 poles to a stone on the west bank of Panther Creek, thence N 8 W, 56 poles, N 34 E, 22 poles to a stone thence N 49 W, 20 poles to a stone on N. side of a drain, thence N 1 E, 48 32/100 poles to a stone thence N 88 W, 15 20/100 poles to the beginning and containing 59 acres, exclusive of school house lot, and grave yard, To have and to hold the same together with all and the singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the second party and her heirs and assigns forever, with covenant - of General Warranty, A lien is expressly retained on the land aforesaid for the security of use, defend payment aforesaid,

Prather Clerk of the Robertson County Court, certify that the foregoing Deed from Solomon McKenzie & others to Ruth Ann Day, was on the 29th day of July 1880, produced to me in said County and was acknowledged before me by Solomon McKenzie, Sarah Jane McKenzie, Roan Philips, Malcom McKenzie and Elizabeth McKenzie parties thereto to be their act and deed, and was lodged for record, Wherefor the same together with this certificate has been duly recorded in my office.
