Stewart, Charlie Owen

C.O. Stewart, 81, to be buried today

Madisonville - Charlie Owen Stewart, 81, of Madisonville, died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in Hopkins County Hospital.

Mr. Stewart was born in Muhlenberg County on Dec. 27, 1885, the son of the late Crawford and Ellen Shanks Stewart. He was a member of the Main Street General Baptist Church of Madisonville.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Maddox of Madisonville; son, U.O. Maddox of Evansville; brother, George Maddox of Madisonville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) by the Rev. Owen Ray Fulcher, minister of Main Street General Baptist Church, with burial to be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Stirsman, Delia Mae

Mrs. Delia Stirsman Dies Friday Morning

Central City - Mrs. Delia Mae Stirsman, 83, died Friday, January 7, at 1:40 a.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Muhlenberg County on November 20, 1888, she was a member of the Cherry Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Mr. Lemuel Stirsman, Route 3, Central City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters: Mrs. Sallie Gwinn, Central City and Mrs. Flora Settles, St. Petersburg, Florida; one brother: Mr. Jimmy Fentress, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Services were held Sunday, January 9, at 2 p.m. in the Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Roy Geary of the Cherry Hill Baptist Church officiating, assisted by the Rev. S.A. Kittinger. Burial followed in the Shaver Chapel Cemetery.

Stobaugh, Pascal

Pascal Stobaugh, 45, Buried Today

Greenville - Pascal Stobaugh, 45, died at his home on Greenville Route 1 Tuesday July 30 at 12:30 p.m. following a brief illness. Funeral services are being conducted today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the New Cypress Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Stobaugh of Greenville Route 1; daughter, Mrs. Teddie Stewart of Chicago, Ill.; son, Leon Stobaugh of Greenville Route 1; three brothers, Harvey Stobaugh of Greenville Route 1, John Stobaugh of Graham, Bill Stobaugh of Depoy; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Ferguson and Mrs. Everett Jackson of Greenville Route 1.

Stroud, John

John Stroud, 82, of 805 West Oak Street, Herrin, died this morning at 5 a.m. at the Herrin Hospital after an illnes of several years. Mr. Stroud was born in Central City, Ky. in 1864, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Stroud. He was a coal miner and a resident of Herrin for the past 45 years. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Ann Stroud; and his children, William Stroud of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Amelia Guthrie of Harrods Creek, KY, Mrs. James Bailie of Herrin, Dan Stroud of Louisville, KY, and Mrs. Jennie Moore of Herrin. The funeral will be at the Storme Funeral Home, Friday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Erven C. Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Herrin City Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Storme Funeral Home.
