Melton, Mildred

Moorman Native Dies In Louisville

Mrs. Mildred Melton, 24, native of Moorman, died at her home in Louisville Saturday, Sept. 21, after an illness of one year. Funeral services were held Monday at the Ebenezer Church with Rev. B.F. Bingham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Wife of Delford Melton, Mrs. Melton was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Moorman. She is survived by her husband, Delford Melton; mother, Verna Mae Buskill; son, David Earl Melton and four brothers and four sisters.

Mercer, Nelson Boyd

Nelson Boyd Mercer Dies in California

Los Angeles, Calif. - Nelson Boyd Mercer, 58, died Feb. 27 in a veteran's hospital in Log Angeles, Calif., following an illness of several months. He was a native of Rochester and the son of the late W.S. Mercer of Rochester.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 2 at 1 p.m. from the Little Chapel of the Dawn in Santa Monica, Calif. with the Rev. Robert E. Palmer officiating. Burial was in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Mercer of Los Angeles; two brothers, a twin, Boyce Mercer of Detroit, Mich., Raymond Mercer of Central City; stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Mercer of Greenville; five half sisters, Mrs. Tom Ford and Mrs. Elgan Strader of Greenville, Mrs. J.B. Gardner and Mrs. John Stedge of Anchorage, Mrs. Cody Yates of Utica; half-brother, W.W. Mercer of Middletown, Rhode Island.
