Charles Bransford, 72, Is Buried Here Today
Charles Bransford, 72, of Central City Route 2, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital Tuesday, March 19, at 6:15 p.m.
A retired miner, he was born in Muhlenberg County July 12, 1895, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Callie Bransford; daughter, Mrs. Melladean Krifft of St. Paul, Minn.; stepson, J.W. Culbertson of Central City Route 1; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; two brothers, Willis Bransford of Central City Route 1 and William Bransford of Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Flora Roach of Central City Route 1 and Mrs. Clara Gentry of Ohio.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 3 p.m. in Central City with the Rev. Floyd Berry, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

America Brown Taken By Death
America Brown, 81, died at her home near Powderly on March 21, of complications, incident to advanced age.
She was a member of Old Bethel Church, from where the funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Pendley. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Rev. Charlie Brown, 101, minister for 50 years, dies
The Rev. Charlie Brown, 101, of Central City Route 2, died Friday, Feb. 10 at 3:25 p.m. in the Belle Meade Nursing Home.
He was born July 21, 1887 in Muhlenberg County and was a retired miner. He was an ordained minister for 50 years and was the oldest member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Earl Brown of South Carrollton; stepson, Kenneth Conway of Bremen; three daughters, Bernadine Steele and Charlie Avaline Wiggins of Central City, and Marjorie McDonald of Greenville; 13 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Cope officiating, assisted by the Rev. Everett Wilkins. Burial was in Cherry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jesse William Brown Dies At Cleaton
Jesse William Brown, 63, died at his home at Cleaton Saturday, December 29, at 4 p.m.
The body remained at the Tucker Funeral Home until the funeral, due to the illness of his wife and baby of five days of age.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Gray Brown; and six children.
Funeral services were held Sunday, at 2 p.m., at the residence, conducted by Mr. Bingham, pastor of the Cleaton Baptist church.
Burial was in Miller Cemetery.

John Brown, 87, of Greenville Route 2, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8 in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
A retired coal miner, he was born Dec. 31, 1892 in Muhlenberg.
He is survived by three sons, Oswald of Bradenson, Fla., Lindell of Powderly and Rollie Brown of Bremen; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Gootee of Central City, Mrs. Dixie Crick and Mrs. Jannie Steele of Powderly and Mrs. Inez Dugger of Portage, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gary Funeral Home with the Rev. John T. Rice officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.

Mrs. Minnie Brown, 52, died December 30 at the home of her son, Harry Brown, of near Powderly. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Drexel Hankins at Oak Grove church, Depoy, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She is survived by five sons, Gilbert, Kirby Lee and Thelma Brown, all of Depoy; Noble and Harry E. Brown, both in the armed forces; two brothers, Denzel and Melvin Turner, both of Depoy, and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Nellie Brown, 42, Dies in Cleaton
Cleaton - Mrs. Nellie Gray Brown, 42, died at her home in Cleaton, Sunday, July 28 at 1:25 p.m. She was born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 4, 1914 and was a member of the Cleaton Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 30 at 2 p.m. at the Maple Grove Baptist Church in South Carrollton with the Rev. Joe Davis officiating. Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby, Otha Ray, and William Lucky Brown, all of Cleaton; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Nicholls and Mrs. Shirley Kilmon of Henderson, Mrs. Alda Howell of Cleaton; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Vincent of Cleaton; three brothers, Eugene Vincent of Cleaton, Elmer Vincent of Russellville, Lucky Vincent of Beechmont; six sisters, Mrs. Violet Ingram of White Plains, Mrs. Lorene Romans of Morgantown, Mrs. Cora Nunley of Cleaton, Mrs. Irene Hughes of Chatsworth, Ill., Mrs. Sarah Ann Whitmer and Mrs. Sue Mohon of Central City Route 4.
Pallbearers were nephews.

Russellville - Mr. Jerry Glenn Browning, 57, of Russellville, died Friday, September 15, 1995 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mr. Browning was born Muhlenberg County in June 14, 1938. He was employed at River Queen Coal Mines as a miner, member of New Cypress Baptist Church, and a member of Masonic Lodge #673 in Central City, Civil Defense. He was preceded in death by father, Arthur Browning and mother, Opal Mae Browning.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Browning of Russellville; one daughter, Cheryl Allen of Russellville; two sons, David Browning of Clare, Michigan and Terry Browning of Clare, Michigan; one brother, Buddy Browning of Cedarlake, Illinois; and one sister, Ruth Ross of Braidwood, Illinois.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 17 at 2 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Burial was in New Cypress Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.
