Thomas D. Quire Family
Longtime residents of Franklin County, Kentucky
Thomas D. Quire (born c. 1848) and Susan Mary Moore were married in Franklin County on 24 February 1870. A March 1938 article in the Associated Press identified the couple as potential claimants for Kentucky's longest-married couple, having been married for 71 years.
The couple spent their lives in the same magisterial district in Franklin County, where Thomas was a career farmer. They raised eight children, five of whom were still living as of 1938. At that time, they also had 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
