Solomon Snow Family
Pioneers of the Bald Knob district, Franklin County, Kentucky
Solomon Snow was born 8 May 1787 in Rhode Island and arrived in Franklin County, Kentucky, early in 1820 from Utica, New York. He married Nancy Ann Brawner (daughter of Edward Brawner and Ann Franklin Brawner of Maryland) on 16 December 1820 in Franklin County. Nancy Ann was born 21 December 1793 in Maryland.
Solomon appeared on Franklin County census records from 1830 through 1860, passing away prior to the 1870 census. In 1870, his widow Ann (age 76) was enumerated in the Bald Knob district alongside daughter Priscilla, son John, and John's children.
Children of Solomon Snow and Nancy Ann Brawner
- William Franklin Snow (b. c. 1822/23) — Married Nancy V. Forbes (daughter of C. J. Forbes) on 26 June 1869 in Franklin County. They had four known children: Lillie, Charles, Hallie, and Kate.
- Henry Carter Snow (b. c. 1824/25) — Married Wady Catharine Hale (daughter of Corbin and Unita Hale) on 4 September 1856 in Franklin County. Their children included twins John W. (b. 1857) and Susana L. "Betty" (b. 1861, who married John Conrad Fincel), as well as twins James M. and Molly.
- Elizabeth Ann Snow (b. 3 October 1825)
- John T. Snow (b. c. 1831) — Married Sarah Ann Moore (daughter of Henry Moore) on 4 October 1854 in Franklin County. Their children included Margaret, Richard H., and Llewellyn (who married Mary Attaway Chism).
- Priscilla Jane Snow (b. c. 1836) — Resided with her mother in the Bald Knob district in 1870.
