Descendants of Benjamin and Elizabeth "Betsey" Blair Harrod
Barnett Harrod, Sr. was born about 1800, most likely in Orange County, Virginia. As a small child, he was brought to Kentucky by his parents, Benjamin and Elizabeth "Betsey" Blair Harrod. The family settled in Henry County, Kentucky, by 1806, and later moved to Franklin County after 1820.

Barnett Harrod, Sr.
Married first Charity Grugin on 16 March 1824 in Henry County, KY. Children: James (b. 1824–1827), Silas (b. c. 1827), and Nancy (b. c. 1829).
Married second Narcissa Calvert Windom on 7 March 1837 in Franklin County. Children: Barnett Jr., George Vandorn, John, Charity, and Elizabeth.
