Leonard Noel Smither Family
Descendants and family lines in Peaks Mill and Franklin County
Leonard Noel Smither, son of John W., was born 17 April 1824 in Peaks Mill, Franklin County, Kentucky. On 1 April 1852 in Owen County, he married Kizziah Curry (born 8 June 1833, daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Rogers Curry). Leonard purchased land along Cedar Creek, and the couple farmed in the region. Kizziah died 7 January 1894, and Leonard died 12 June 1913; both are buried in the Smither Cemetery.

- Owen Breckenridge Smither (24 July 1855 – 26 March 1948)
- John W. Smither (17 June 1857 – 11 May 1935) — Married Emma White (1862–1939). They had a son, Herman Smither (1881–1966), who married Lillie Mae O'Nan and raised children Anita, Geneva, Edna, and Cleora.
- Grant C. Smither (30 May 1859 – 10 December 1939) — Married first Jennie O'Nan Pollett; married second Victoria Arnold (1865–1906). Their children included Elmer, Myrtle, Thomas Grant, Alex C., Leo Buckley, Omah, Bulah, Edith, William Goebel, and Kelly.
- Elizabeth Smither (20 October 1862 – 16 January 1952) — Married Louis Frederick True (1855–1937) on 18 January 1879. Children included Elvin, Emmet O., Grover C., Ester Noel, and Earl.
- A. C. Smither (June 1866 – 24 January 1928) — Minister, settled in California.
- Wade Hampton Smither (12 June 1869 – 13 April 1905) — Buried in Smither Cemetery.
- Winter S. Smither (24 February 1872 – 8 April 1896) — Buried in Smither Cemetery.
