Scots-Irish roots and Franklin County settlement
John W. North was born in 1800 in Ireland (possibly Scots-Irish). On 30 December 1833, he obtained a bond to marry Mary "Polly" Warfield (daughter of Vachel and Elizabeth Jackson Warfield). Polly was born about 1815 in Franklin County and died between March 1854 and March 1855. John died in Franklin County on 25 March 1855.

Married William Alton Parris (b. 1840) on 14 March 1861 in Franklin County.
Joseph North
Union Civil War veteran (Kentucky 22nd, Co. F). Married Eldora Duvall (daughter of Lott Duvall and Lucy Marshall) on 30 October 1867. They had ten children. Buried at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Isaac North
Appeared in the 1850 census but not thereafter; likely died young.
Alexander North
Married first Martha Lee on 13 June 1876; married second Josephine Duvall Marshall (widow of Humphrey Marshall) in 1883. Buried at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
William North
Married Ellen Brewer. William died single (widowed/divorced) and is buried at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Research note: With the exception of Joseph, the children were named after Polly's siblings. There was another North family living in Franklin County during this period (descendants of Henry North), which can lead to research confusion, though similarities suggest potential distant relations.
