Edward Brawner

Born about 1762 in Maryland; later of Franklin County, Kentucky

Edward Brawner was born about 1762 in Maryland; his parentage is not proven. He married January 3, 1782 to Ann Franklin of Maryland, who bore him eight children. Ann died in 1797, and Edward married second Agnes Clingsdale on May 25, 1801, probably in Maryland. By Agnes he had four children.

Edward Brawner appears on the census for Franklin County, Kentucky in 1820. It is believed he died prior to 1830 in Franklin County, Kentucky, although not proven. Agnes (Clingsdale) Brawner died about 1832, probably in Franklin County.

John Brawner

Born February 8, 1784, Maryland. John settled in Henry County, Kentucky by 1820 and later migrated to Franklin County, Kentucky.

Jenet Brawner

Twin, born April 17, 1786, Maryland. She married Richard Cook on January 27, 1819 and had children Alex, James, and Robert Cook. Jenet Brawner Cook died on August 20, 1852 in Franklin County, Kentucky; her death is not recorded in the 1852 vital statistics for Franklin County.

William Brawner

Twin, born April 17, 1786, Maryland. He remained in Maryland. Nothing further is known.

Elizabeth Brawner

Born March 27, 1788, Maryland. She died in September 1788, aged 7 months.

Theophilis Brawner

Born February 23, 1789, Port Charles, Charles County, Maryland. Theophilis served Maryland in the War of 1812. He migrated to Kentucky and lived most of his life in Franklin and Shelby counties.

Priscilla Brawner

Born February 8, 1792, Maryland. There is no indication that Priscilla ever married. She is listed in the household of Walter R. Franklin on the 1850 Franklin County, Kentucky census as Priscilla Brawner, age 65, born Virginia. In 1860 Priscilla Brawner, age 77, born Maryland, is living in Franklin County with her step-brother, retired stone mason Robert Brawner. Records of the Frankfort Cemetery state Priscilla Brawner was interred on February 22, 1878.

Nancy Ann Brawner

Born December 21, 1793, Maryland. She married Solomon Snow of Rhode Island on December 16, 1820 in Franklin County, Kentucky. They had children: William Franklin, Henry Carter, Elizabeth Sarah Ann, John T., and Priscilla Jane. Solomon Snow died prior to the 1870 Franklin County census. Ann Snow is listed on the 1870 Franklin County census with daughter Priscilla, son John, and his three children.

Robert Alexander Brawner

Born August 5, 1802, Maryland. He married Mary Catherine Murray, daughter of James Murray, on December 16, 1829 in Franklin County, Kentucky. Mary was born February 4, 1811 and died in Frankfort, Kentucky on July 1, 1851. Robert died October 16, 1878 and is buried in the Frankfort Cemetery. Eight children were born to this union: Alexander Goldsmith (October 25, 1830), Agnes Louise (January 10, 1833), Thomas Payne (September 30, 1834), Mary Elizabeth (March 6, 1837), Henry Kendrick (May 3, 1839), Lavinia Blackburn (October 2, 1841), Isabella Whitehead (November 3, 1843), and James Galbraith Brawner (February 25, 1846).

Mary Olivia Brawner

Born September 21, 1805, Maryland. She married William G. Miles on November 12, 1829 in Franklin County, Kentucky.

Edward Francis Brawner

Born February 11, 1809, Maryland. He married Mrs. Elizabeth Rice in Franklin County, Kentucky on April 6, 1830. Elizabeth Tinsley Rice was previously married to Buford Rice. Edward F. Brawner appears on the census in 1830 and 1840 Franklin County, Kentucky. Nothing further is known.

Richard Henry Brawner

Born April 25, 1812, Maryland. He married on March 18, 1835 to Elizabeth Moss (date and place of marriage otherwise unknown). Richard died on November 17, 1837.
