Edmond Scantland (born c. 1773 in Virginia) first appeared in Franklin County records in 1795. He married Anna Hawkins (daughter of William Hawkins, Sr.) on 16 August 1796 in Franklin County.

Edmond was a significant landowner, notably associated with "Franklin Springs." He died in Franklin County between September and November 1851, leaving a will (Will Book 2, page 228) that names six children. Anna likely predeceased him.

Married Reuben Crutcher (c. 1782–1864) in the mid-1830s. Sarah was living in the Bridgeport district in 1870.

Azubah Scantland

Born c. 1801, Franklin Co., KY

Married William W. Hawkins (son of Jehu Hawkins) on 3 May 1832. They settled on a farm on the Frankfort-Versailles road in Woodford County known as the "William Wood Place." Children included R. T., John E., Lucy, Edmonia, William K., Elizabeth "Bettie," James, and Alice.

John "Jack" Scantland

Married Amanda Hawkins (daughter of William R. Hawkins and Hannah Clemens) on 15 November 1840. They raised six children: O. A. C., John W., Sally J., Ann Mary, Bettie Miles, and Byron S. Scantland.

Edmond Scantland

Born c. 1809/10, Franklin Co., KY

Possibly Edward P. Scantland, who migrated to Phillips County, Arkansas, in the 1830s. He married Ann Ball Waddy and died in February 1856.

Married Minerva Hopgood (daughter of John Hopgood) on 11 February 1845 in Henderson County. Children included Alice A. and John W. Scantland.

Oliver H. P. Scantland

Born c. 1814, Franklin Co., KY

Appears in Warren County, KY records in the 1840s/50s before returning briefly to Franklin County. Married Margaret J. ___?.
