DUNNINGCould
anyone
tell
me
just
where
Pollard's
Tanyard
was
located
in
1860.
John
Dunning
was
in
that
area
on
the
1860
census.
When
he
sold
his
land
to
his
son
in
1847,
it
was
described
as
being
on
Piney
Fork
of
Tradewater.
Would
this
be
in
the
same
area
as
Pollard's
Tanyard?
Oh,
one
other
thing
--
I
am
having
a
very
difficult
time
establishing
children
for
this
John.
There
were
several
who
married
in
the
1840s
with
no
father
being
mentioned
on
the
marriage
records.
Does
anyone
know
if
Foster
Mason
was
a
minister
or
J.P.
and
what
area
he
was
he?
He
married
Eliza

could
be

I found in looking in the Kentucky Gazetteer the following while searching for our family name, "Tayloe.":
Tayloe Bend
county: Caldwell
type: Bend
source: USGS Digital Gazetteer
topoquad: Dalton, KY
latitude: 371817N
longitude: 0874916W
Does anyone know where the name came from, when, or exactly where it is
on the map? Any help with the Tayloe name in Kentucky would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks so much - Kaye Tayloe Collins
