Littell's Laws
The following material came from a set of four books
called 'LITTELL'S LAWS--THE STATUTE LAW OF KENTUCKY', printed in
1809-1814. They belonged to our ancestor, John Mercer, who served in the
legislature of Kentucky, from Caldwell Co. from 1808-1819. The books
passed down to his son, William, then to his grandson John Edwin, who
brought them to Wise Co., Tex. when he came with his wife, Elizabeth and
eight children, in a covered wagon in the year 1875. The books were
stored in an earthen vault for many years and were given to us by a
grandson of John Edwin's.
