David Sigler Heirs Deed to James Keeney

  "Holeman and others, to James Keeny" This indenture made
  and entered into this 24th day of March 1847 by and between John Holeman &
  Margaret his wife, Jacob Sigler, George Sigler, George Nall, and J.A.
  Cartwright, all of the county of Caldwell Kentucky except George Sigler who
  lives in Hopkins County, and George Nall of Union County & State aforesaid
  of the first part and James Keeny of the said County of Caldwell Kentucky of
  the other part. Whereas the several persons of the first part are co-lateral
  heirs of David Sigler deceased who died without issue & intestate,
  except the said Cartwright and whereas Margaret Sigler the widow of said
  decedent had her equal third part of the land that said David Sigler died
  seized and possessed of laid off to her and received by the Caldwell County
  court and recorded which called for about sixty acres out of a 200 acre tract
  pattented to one Love, and whereas the said James Keeny having by purchase
  became invested with the life estate of said widow and has also bought out the
  reversionary interest in all of the persons of the first part and this deed is
  for a further conformation and investiture for the same. These
  presents therefore witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of
  thirty dollars in hand paid to each of the persons of the first part the
  receipt of which they and each of them do hereby acknowledge & forever
  acquit the said partyof the second part for the same, do by these presents
  grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the party of the second part
  and his heirs and assigns forever all that said tract of land allotted to the
  said widow of said decedant as aforesaid situate in said County of Caldwell
  and on the waters of Donaldson and is bounded as follows
  towit:Beginning at a white oak and hickory the original beginning
  corner running thence West with William Love's line 97 poles to a black oak
  thence S34 W44 poles to a pin oak & elm thence S46 W34 poles to an elm
  thence S28 W10 poles to a hickory, thence S69 E 120 poles to a stake in the
  original line of said Joseph Love's survey thence with the same N9 E120 to the
  beginning supposed to contain 60 acres be the same more or less. Together
  with all and singular the appurtenances, to have and to hold the said tract
  and boundary of land unto the said James Keeny his heirs and assigns forever
  free from the claim of them the parties of the first part and they and each of
  their heirs and from the claim of all persons whatsoever claiming by through
  or under them or any of them will by these presents warrant and forever
  defend.In testimony whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto
  set their hands and affixed their seals the date first
  written.Witnesses as to George Sigler: James L Cravens , and James C.

  Caldwell County court do certify that deed from John Holeman & others to
  James Keeny was on the 24th day of March produced to me in my office and
  acknowledged by said Holeman & wife, Jacob Sigler, & James A.
  Cartwright to be their act and deeds for the purposes thereby contained and
  the said Mrs. Holeman wife of the said John Holeman being then and there
  examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared that she did
  freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said deed and acknowledged said
  writing again shewn and explained to her to be her act and deed and wishes not
  to retract it and consenteth that the said may be recorded. And on the 24th
  day of August the same was acknowledged by George Nall and wife to be their
  act and deeda for the purposes therein contained and the said Mrs. Nall being
  then and there examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared
  that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said deed and
  acknowledged said writing again shown and explained to her, to be her act and
  deed for the purposes therein contained and wishes not to retract it and
  consenteth that the same be recorded and on the 17th day of October it was
  proven by the seperate oaths of James L. Cravens, and James C. Eison two
  subscribing witnesses thereto as to the signature of George Sigler and on the
  18th day of December the same was ordered to be recorded. Whereupon I
  have truly recorded the same and this certificate in my said office given
  under my hand this 18th day of December 1848.
