Mr. Ellis's Brother, 77, Dies in Rumsey

Rumsey - James French Ellis, 77, retired blacksmith, died at his home here at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 30.

A native of McLean County, he was a member of the Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sara Hallie Ellis; five daughters, Mrs. Wayne Hays, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Lester Cobb, Mrs. Glover Settle, Mrs. Elwood Cessna, and Mrs. Chester Arnold, all of Rumsey; two sons, Thurman Ellis and Wayman Ellis, both of Rumsey; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Reid Rust, Sacramento [Ky.]; one brother, John Ellis, Central City.

W.H. Elschide, 77, Is Buried Sunday

Powderly - The Rev. William H. Elschide, 77, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at his home in Powderly. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Bob Spears officiating with burial in the Brownsville Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hallie Elschide; three sons, Charles of Lake Village, Ind., Herbert of Chicago, William of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Eunice Quarry of Evansville, Mrs. Bunie Hayes of Chandler, Ind., Mrs. Nancy Deuresett of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Mrs. Ordel Cephus of Williamsport, Ind.; one step-daughter and three step-sons.

Epley, Sarah Viola

Mrs. J. T. Epley, 64, Dies Sept. 18 In Union Ridge

Mrs. Sarah Viola Epley, 64, wife of J. T. Epley, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Stinson, in Union Ridge Wednesday, Sept. 18 after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 20, at 2:00 P.M., at Leigh Chapel with Rev. William Mallory, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Jackson Cemetery. Parker and Washburne Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, J. T. Epley; three sons, Broadus, of Loda, Ill., Watson, of Toledo and Elmer, of Elgin Field, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Stinson, of Union Ridge, Mrs. Flora Blaker, of Toledo, and Mrs. Nora Jones, of Dunmor.

Evitts, Corine

Corine Evitts, 6, Dies Sept. 24

Corine Evitts, 6, foster daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Moore, of Central City, died Tuesday, Sept. 24 after being sick for only a few hours. Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the Tucker Funeral Home with Rev. Caravans, of Louisville, officiating. Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery.

Born July 13, 1940, she had lived in Central City all her life. She is survived by her foster parents and several half-brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were Marshall Moore, Ransom Moore, James Embry and Wilson Moore.

Eli Evitts, 82, is Buried Sunday

Eli Evitts, 82, of Dawson Springs Route 1, a retired coal miner, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, July 9 in Hopkins County Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lena Evitts, Dawson Springs Route 1; four sons, Jack and Eli Evitts Jr., of Nebo Route 1, Roger Dale Evitts of Dawson Springs Route 4 and Lendell Evitts of Chicago; five daughters, Mrs. Maudine Steele of Haywood, Calif., Mrs. Nellie Perkins of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Gladys Noffsinger and Mrs. Thelma Moore of Central City and Mrs. Eloise Baucum of Dawson Springs; stepson, Rufus Earl Frisby of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gracie Trotter of Dawson Springs and Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Foe of Dawson Springs Route 1; 35 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lucian Evitts of Powderly and Jack Evitts of Ogden, Utah; sister, Mrs. Otha Cornette of Ogden.

He was born March 10, 1888 in Muhlenberg.

Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. in Dawson Springs with burial in Dunn's Cemetery.

Henry Evitts, 79, Dies Early Today

Greenville - Henry Evitts, 79, retired miner and farmer, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29 following a long illness. He was a member of Greenville Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ora Evitts; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Brooks of Greenville and Mrs. Pauline Mryes of Louisville; sister, Mrs. Otha Cornette of Salt Lake City, Utah; three brothers, Lucian Evitts of Powderly, Eli Evitts of Dawson Springs and Jack Evitts of Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Evitts, Lucian A.

Lucian A. Evitts, 88, Dies May 20

Powderly - Lucian A. Evitts, 88, died Sunday, May 20, at 9:25 a.m. at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 27, 1884 and lived in Powderly. He was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Evitts of Powderly; daughter, Mrs. G. O. (Soddy) Vincent of Central City; two sons, Ray of Louisville and Howard of Carrollton, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Otha Cornette, and brother, Jack Evitts, both of Ogden, Utah.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Orval Raymer, assisted by the Rev. O. R. Davis, officiating. Burial was in Muhlenberg Memorial Garden Cemetery.
