Abrams, Minnie

Mrs. Benjie Gossett's mother dies in Rumsey

Rumsey - Mrs. Minnie Abrams, 69, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 1, at the home of her son, Gurden Abrams, Rumsey, after a long illness.

She was the widow of the late Louis Abrams. Mrs. Abrams was born in 1890 in Ohio County and has lived most of her life in McLean County. She was a member of the Shutts Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Miss Iva Lou Abrams, Rumsey, Mrs. Benjie Gossett, Graham, Mrs. R.V. Love, Rumsey; five sons, Gurden Abrams, James Abrams, Edward Abrams, all of Rumsey, Roy Abrams, Island, and Ulis T. Abrams, Princeton, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. Flora Coin, Island.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Robert T. Nall, pastor of the Pack Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Armstrong, Michael William

Armstrong baby buried here Jan. 6

Michael William Armstrong, 20-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Armstrong, died at Cairo Hospital in Cario, Mich. Sunday at 1 p.m.

Besides his parents he is survived by a brother, Steven Armstrong; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Littlefield of Central City Route 4 and Mrs. Betty Armstrong of Cookesville, Tenn.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Central City by Alfred Reeves, pastor of the Greenville Church of Christ. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery.
