- Greenville Leader [KY], 3 Jan 1952. Negro Veteran dies at Nichols Hospital. Fred McAdoo, 36, Negro, Cleaton, died Tuesday, December 18 at the Nichols General Hospital in Louisville. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Marine Corps. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McAdoo, Cleaton, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Cleaton, the Rev. C.L. Jones, pastor, officiating.

Greenville - Clay Hershel Middleton, 94, of Louisville, died Sunday, March 5 at VA Medical Center, Louisville. He was born Jan. 20, 1895 in Rosewood, was a retired farmer and coal miner, and was a member of Luzerne Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. Survivors include seven sons, Jim B. Middleton of Shepherdsville, Courtland Middleton of Columbus, Ga., Freddie W. Middleton of Brandenburt, William A., Henry E., Danny R. and C. Norris Middleton, all of Louisville; four daughters, June Rose of Denver, Colo., Jerry Ewton of Jefferstown, Ind., Anita Hottendory of Everett, Wash., and Margaret Capps of Louisville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Alvey Middleton of Powderly. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Gary's Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Evitts officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Robert Howard Miller, 75, of Central City, died at his residence on Reservoir Hill Thursday, March 20, at 8:45 a.m. Born in Muhlenberg County April 17, 1893, he was a retired coal miner and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Miller; son, Robert Paul Miller of Hammond, Ind.; daughter, Mrs. E. C. Gray of Central City Route 2; six grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Nora Warner of Central City. Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. L. Blake of Beech Creek officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bobby Hambrick. Burial was in Muhlenberg County Memorial Gardens.
