MILES, Arthur May 02, 1934 - March 16, 2013 Arthur Miles, 78, of Vic Greer Road in Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born Wednesday, May 2, 1934 in Letcher County, he was the son of the late Jonah & Ettie Sturgill Miles. He was the widower of the late Margaret Bruner Miles, who preceded him in death on March 11, 1998. Arthur retired as a Coal Miner from Blue Diamond. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and playing cards. Arthur leaves behind two sons, Rollan Miles and Roger Dean Miles (Shannon) of Waynesburg; two daughters, Rita Broughton (Ricky) of Garrard County, and Rebecca Todd (Mike) of Broughtontown; four brothers, Charlie Miles of Whitesburg, Kentucky and James, Steven, and Cecil Miles of Cumberland, Kentucky; two sisters, Tootsie Ratliff of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Sue Tyree of Cumberland, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robin Miles. A Visitation will be held 12Noon-2PM Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00PM with Bro. Kerry Jones and Bro. Dervin Spears officiating the service.
Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Broughtontown. Carpenter January 04, 1930 - March 13, 2013 Lillian Carpenter Miles, 83, of Norwood, Ohio, died Wednesday.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Bowling; and two siblings, Ottis Carpenter and Ann Dople. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Daugherty; a son, Steve Daugherty; and four siblings, Earl, Lawrence and Denny Carpenter, and Betty Freeman.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Naegele, Kleb & Ihlendorf Funeral Home, 3900 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio.
