BANKS, Jacqueline J. Holmes September 14, 1933 - June 10, 2012 BANKS, Jacqueline J. age 78 of Millville, Ohio passed away June 10, 2012 at The Drake Center in Cincinnati. She was born on September 14, 1933 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky the daughter of Gerald and Faye (Bentley) Holmes. On October 22, 1954 she married William "Bill" Banks at the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Cincinnati. Jackie was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Banks of Millville; five grandchildren; Angela, Timothy, Nina, Nicholas, Jackie; two great grandchildren, Connor and Edith; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Banks and one son, William Banks. There will be a visitation at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Saturday, June 16 from 10-11am until the time of service at 11am.

BURNETT, Clora Routin Gilreath January 15, 1927 - January 06, 2011 Clora Routin Gilreath Burnett, Age 83, of Centerville, OH passed away January 6, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born January 15, 1927 in Waynesburg, KY to Juey (Singleton) and O'Bannon Routin. Clora formerly worked at Sugarcreek Schools where she was a school bus driver. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Roscoe Gilreath in 1972 & daughter Sharon Cayce Syrell in 2008. Clora is survived by her daughter Patricia McFann and her husband Richard of NC, 2 sons Harold Roger Gilreath and his wife Donna of MO and Paul Gilreath of Centerville, OH. Grandchildren Robert Brian Cayce, Richard "Rick" McFann, Michael Todd McFann, James Gilreath and Amanda Gilreath & 8 great grandchildren. Born in Stanford, she was a daughter of Melinda Shannon and the late Henry Shannon. Survivors other than her mother are two sons, James M. Dunaway Jr. and Henry C. Dunaway, both of Lexington; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary King and Loraine Logue, both of Lexington. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Workman, and two brothers, Hubert and William Shannon.

HENDRICKSON, Hubert February 27, 1949 - April 24, 2008 Mr. Hubert Hendrickson, 59 of Lancaster, formerly of Crab Orchard, passed away on Thursday, April 24th at his home. He was the husband of Karen Crystal Wallace Hendrickson whom he married on October 16, 1985. Hubert was born in Crab Orchard on February 27, 1949 to the late Charles and Lucy Merida Hendrickson.
Survivors include; wife, Karen Hendrickson of Lancaster, Ky., daughter, Lisa Geraldine Simpson of Crab Orchard, 2 step daughters; Crystal Ann Getter of Crab Orchard, Amy Lynn Blanton of Lancaster, KY, two step sons; Daniel Andrew Hendrickson of Lancaster, KY., Timothy Scott Hendrickson of Sycamore, IL. 5 brothers; Glenn Edward Hendrickson of Orgeon, IL, Nevil Garret Hendrickson of Crab Orchard, KY, Lonnie Ray Hendrickson of Lancaster, KY. Bobby Odell Hendrickson, of Maryville, TN. and Larry Wayne Hendrickson of Scottsburg, IN., and a sister, Rhoda Mae Salyers of Greencastle, IN., 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Born Tuesday, November 24, 1936 in Lincoln County. she was the daughter of the late Joda Smallwood, Sr. and Mabel Moore Smallwood. She was a homemaker. Jean Leaves behind her loving husband, Garland Johnson of London, two sons, Mike Bates (Patti) of Milford, Ohio and Tim Bates (Dawn) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Donna Walsh (Frank) of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Smallwood; and one brother-in-law, Jim Howard of Somerset. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joda "Bert" Smallwood, Jr. and Billy Joe Smallwood; and one sister, Carrie "Sis" Howard.

JONES, Charles "Chuck" September 24, 1943 - October 20, 2012 Charles "Chuck" Jones Jr., 69, of Stanford, KY died Monday, October 29, 2012 in Danville, KY. He was born September 24, 1943 in Stanford, KY to the late Charles Sr. and Nannie Mae Brummett Jones. He lived and farmed on the Jessie Hocker farm in Stanford, KY.
Survivors include one brother; Paul aka "P.A." Jones (Frieda) of Stanford, KY, three sisters; Lois Ann Carrier (Neil) of Lancaster, KY, Arvena Fowler of Harrodsburg, KY, and Eula Parks of Lexington, KY, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother; Gilbert Jones and four sisters; Nellie Denny, Beulah Garner, Dorothy Green, and Catherine Jones. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 3-6pm.
Funeral will also be Thursday at 6pm with the Reverend Morris Trayner officiating. Both services will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel (Stanford). Casket bearers will be his nephews.

MATHENY, Dr. Robert Bruce January 29, 1934 - October 22, 2012 Dr. Robert Bruce Matheny, Sr., 78, of Middlesboro, died Monday, Oct. 22. Born Jan. 29, 1934, near Stanford, Dr. Matheny was the second son of the late Adam Pence Matheny, Sr. and Dorotha Steele Matheny. He served in the Army Reserves and the US. Navy during the Korean War and in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He was a graduate of Tulane Medical School and practiced medicine in Sebree, Ky., and Half Moon Bay, Calif., before moving to Middlesboro in 1970. Dr. Matheny served Middlesboro as a family physician until his retirement in 1998. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Graham Matheny.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann Dudley Brown Matheny; three children, Robert Bruce (Rema) Matheny Jr., of Lexington, Katherine Shawn Matheny (Bill) Dresser of Indianapolis, Ind., and David Pence (Barbara) Matheny of Stanford; grandchildren, Lydia Ann and William “Will” Donald Dresser and Margaret “Maggie” Anne and Adam Pence Matheny III; brothers, Adam Pence Matheny, Jr., and Joseph Steele (Pegi) Matheny; sister, Patricia (Terry) Ashbrook; sister-in-law, Judith Matheny; and a host of nieces and nephews. NICHOLAS, Gene Edward - November 17, 2012 CRAB ORCHARD — Gene Edward Nicholas, the beloved husband of Dorothy Ilene Harness Nicholas, passed away Nov. 17, 2012, in Ohio at the age of 70. Additional survivors include Edward Allen Nicholas and his wife, Sonja; Michael W. Nicholas; Kathy and her husband, Jimmy Osborne; David Nicholas; James Nicholas and his wife, Carol; and Greg Nicholas and his wife, Tonya. He is survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Virginia, and her husband, Lenual Brown.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday, Nov. 24, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Harness officiating.

PERRY, Beatrice Smith February 06, 1932 - October 26, 2012 Beatrice Smith Perry, 80, wife of Arthur Perry died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Beatrice was born on Feb. 6, 1932, in Bandy, Ky. She was the daughter of the late William Hubert and Luceal Poynter Smith. She was a former seamstress for Cowdens Manufacturing. She married Arthur on March 31, 1950. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include a son, Randall (Rita) Perry; two grandchildren, Melissa Lee (Jason) Lawrence, and April Michelle Bell; two half-sisters, Ann (Burgess) French and Betty Huffines; and two half-brothers, Jack Smith and Bill (Mary Anny) Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Ray Perry; a sister, Della May Camplecci; and a brother, Marlin Lee Smith. Memorial visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at McKnight Funeral Home.

Born Sunday, Feb. 25, 1962, in Mullens, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Carl and Jeanette Lee Johnson Randolph. Gay Gay leaves behind one daughter, Carla Jeanette Randolph of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Tammy Lamb and Teresa Randolph, both of Crab Orchard; four grandchildren; and a special niece, Christy Mullins of Paint Lick.. and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Gary and Jerry Randolph; and two sisters, Sally Reed and Barbara Randolph. RITCHIE, David Lane July 24, 1962 - October 25, 2012 David L. Richie, 50, of Waynesburg, KY died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at his home. He was born July 24, 1962 in Lexington, KY to Ruth Edwards Richie and the late Russell Richie, Jr. As a freshman in High School David attended Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, he was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln County High School and had attended Eastern KY University. He was a color Technician on D Crew, at RR Donnelly in Danville where he had worked for over 18 years, he also was owner/operator of DL Richie Trucking. David was a veteran of the Air National Guard. David enjoyed his time spent trucking and watching the wildlife around his home.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Edwards Richie of Danville, KY; his wife Tammy New Richie of Waynesburg, KY; six aunts and uncles, Darwin and Donna Edwards of Louisville, KY, June Edwards Johnson of Corbin, KY, Georgia Long, Gene Ross Richie, Stephen Todd Richie and Ronald Keith Richie all of Cynthiana, KY; he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell "Rusty" Richie III. Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2012, from 5-8 at Spurlin Funeral Home, funeral service will be 1 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Spurlin Funeral home. ROGERS, Thelma Petrey February 05, 1932 - October 27, 2012 Thelma Petrey Rogers, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Stanford, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Mercy Hospital Western Hills in Cincinnati. Born Feb. 5, 1932, in Broughtontown, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Brad and Annie Mullins Petrey. Thelma was a member of Crab Orchard Old Regular Baptist Church and the widow of Charles Everett Rogers, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Larry (Shari) Rogers of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Evan (Elizabeth) Rogers and Megan Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Oliver Rogers; a sister, Christine (Richard) Pendygraft; a brother, Willie (Scena Ann) Petrey; two nieces, Kathy Peek and Lori Pendygraft; and two nephews, James and Brad Petrey In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Rogers; a great-grandson, Wyatt Rogers; and four brothers, Raymond, Glenn, Freddie and Cecil Petrey. She was born July 8, 1929 in Boyle County, KY to the late Welsey and Mary Case Shearer. She was the widow of Reverend James Sheron, Sr. She had been the co-owner, with her husband, of the Shopworth Food Center in Downtown Stanford; she also had worked as a seamstress at Palm Beach in Danville, KY. Nora was a member of the Somerset 1st Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Sheron (Donna) of Stanford, KY, Mike Sheron (Patricia) of Nancy, KY, Gail Barry (Dennis) of Newport News, VA and Michelle Kirsch (Mark) of Long Beach, MS; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by a daughter, JoLene Edwards, 2 brothers and a sister. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2012, from 5-9 at the Stanford Church of the Nazarene, the funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 13 at the Stanford Church of the Nazarene. Born Friday, Aug. 5, 1921, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Caleb and Kabelle Falconberry Hubble. She was the loving wife of the late Edward B. White. Blanche was a graduate of the University of Louisville and a retired teacher of 42 years for the Louisville/Jefferson County Board of Education. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, a member of the Waynesburg Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and member of Alpha Delta Kappa in Somerset. Blanche leaves behind several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and -nephews; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, John Marion and Thomas Albert Hubble; and three sisters, Faunice Hubble, Nettie Stonecypher and Katherine May.

She was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on November 12, 1925 the daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Stella (Spivey) Newcomb. Dorothy was previously employed with Pillsbury and Harris Shoe Store. She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Tami) Williams and Rusty (Carolyn) Williams; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Roy, bobby, Donny, Ronnie, Virginia, Lois, Bessie, Benny and Justine. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her grandson Brandon Williams, three sisters and two brothers, Betty Jane, Sherry, Georgia, David and Keith.
Funeral ceremony will be held at 2 PM on Friday September 7, 2012 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to services at the funeral home. ~
