PENDERGRAFT
PENDERGRAFT, Violet Deloris Wilcher Violet Deloris Wilcher Pendergraft, 72, of Danville, formerly of Hustonville, died Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville. A native of Casey Co., she was born Oct. 30, 1933 to the late James and Dorothy Merritt Wilcher. She was retired from Cowdens Manufacturing in Stanford, worked as a CNA at Fort Logan Hospital, a volunteer at West Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services, and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Wilcher.
Survivors include her husband, Dwain “Dink” Pendergraft of Hustonville; two sons, Darin (Michelle) Pendergraft of Danville and James Robert (Jennifer) Pendergraft of Hustonville; two daughters, Nina Kay “Katie” (Henry) McCowan of Junction City and Larraine (Tony) Warner of Hustonville; five sisters, Gertrude (Walt) Davis of Silvis, IL., Matilda (Dee) Price of Ore City, TX., Vivian Spahr of Stanford, Diane (David) Cook of Knoxville, TN., and Sandy (Gary) Chandler of Fayetteville, NC.: two brothers, Grover (Linda) Wilcher of Dallas, GA., and James (Marsha) Wilcher of Burgin; four grandchildren, Anthony and Jason McCowan, Shaun D. Pendergraft, and Kebra Nimmo; and one great granddaughter, Taylor Rae Pendergraft.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Ellisburg Baptist Church with Bros. G. W. Smith, Harold Thompson, and Jeremiah Nimmo officiating.
Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Shaun D. Pendergraft, Anthony and Jason McCowan, Steve Wilcher, Scott Spahr, and Kenneth Tanner. Honorary pallbearers were the staff at Charleston Health Care Center and the Ellisburg Baptist Church Choir. W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home of Moreland was in charge of the arrangements.
