HAMMONS, Ronald E. d. 02 Jul 2005 HAMMONS, Ronald E., 73, Lexington and Okeechobee, FL, formerly of Richmond, KY, husband of Anna Margaret Rhodus Hammons, passed away Sat., July 2, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center. He retired as Senior Contracts Administrator for IBM. Born in Independence, KY, he was a son of the late William Virgil and Vivian Shotwell Hammons Sr. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was affiliated with Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond, and he served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors also include two daughters, Vivian Carol Hammons and Luann Shouse and son-in-law, Bill Shouse all of Lexington; three grandchildren, U. S Army Specialist Matthew Simpson, Baghdad, Iraq, and Jamie and Brandon Collins, Richmond; siblings, Betty Collins and W. V. (Bill) (Bettye Jo) Hammons Jr., Richmond and Tom (Mary) Hammons, Burlington, KY, brothers and sisters-in-law; Alvin (Judy) Rhodus, Margie (Ralph) Million, all of Richmond, Robert J. Rhodus, Louise Rhodus, Ralph (Nancy) Rhodus, Frank (Jean) Rhodus and Patsy (Ron) Turpin all of Lexington, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 10 am Wed., July 6, 2005 at the W.R. Milward Mortuary, Southland, conducted by Rev. Jay Davis Robison with burial in the Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call 5 - 9 pm Tues., July 5, 2005.
