BRYANT, William Henry d. 05 April 1999 CRAB ORCHARD - Services for the Rev. William Henry Bryant, 79, of Brodhead, will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Brodhead, by the Rev. Cecil Roundtree.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18 of Stanford. He died Monday at his home. Born Oct. 20, 1910, in Duck Run, he was a son of the late John W. and Alice C. Martin Bryant. He was a farmer and a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kidd Bryant; five sons, Lester, Wesley and David Bryant, all of Crab Orchard, Lesley Bryant of Richmond and W. Henry Bryant of Brodhead; five daughters, Alene Irvin and Kathleen Denny of Brodhead, Irene Bishop, Wilmaleen Singleton and Sheila Downs, all of Mount Vernon; three stepsons, Mark and Dawayne Denny, both of Brodhead, and Keith Denny of Crab Orchard; five stepdaughters, Alma Denny and Mary Brown, both of Crab Orchard, Roxanna Debord of Somerset, Sandra Cordero of Avon Park, Fla., and Tammy Martin of Brodhead; five brothers, Lewis Bryant of Louisville, Ancil Bryant of Whitely City, Ernest Bryant of Brodhead, Andy Bryant of Greenfield, Ohio, and James Bryant of Piqua, Ohio; two sisters, Lola Hopkins of Crab Orchard and Lena Toler of Brodhead; 46 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick and Mark Bryant, Jimmy Irvin, Jerry Denny and Mickey and Jody Taylor. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today. McKnight-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Feb. 18, 1999 – Thursday
