In the name of God, amen, I, John McMullen of the county of Franklin and State of Kentucky, being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and
testament.
1st: I will and bequeath to my wife, Mary my farm upon which I now reside to have full possession of during her life.
2nd: I will and bequeath to my wife, Mary all my household and kitchen furniture, my two horses, my three cows & calves, and my stock of hogs and farming utensils to
have and to hold without any future account except that she leave to my sons, James and Merritt two horses of equal value at her death.
3rd: I will and bequeath to my sons James and Merritt my farm at the death of my wife to be equally divided between them by Commissioners and the one to whom shall
fall that part of the farm on which the house stands shall pay to my daughter, Lucy Jane Lillis and to my son Archie the sum of fifty dollars each.
4th: I will and bequeath that my sons James and Merritt shall pay to my sons George, William, and John the sum of ten dollars each when they my sons James and Merritt
shall come into possession of the farm.
To my son-in-law James Carr and his children I have already given their share of my estate. I desire that my sons James and Merrett have a care of and assist my wife in
the management and cultivation of the farm, but if my wife chooses to employ any other person she shall have the right.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and decree this to be my last will and testament in presence of the witnesses named below, the
19th July 1852.
