In the name of God Amen, I Elijah Lea of the County of Franklin and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life,
do therefore make and ordain., publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. That is to say:
First That all my surplus loose property to be sold and then all my just and lawful debts be paid and discharged, the residue of my estate, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife,
Elizabeth Lea all my lands to her use so long as she shall remain my widow and during her natural life without marrying and then to be divided between my children equally. By
request of Elijah Lea, his Executors are authorized to sell a portion of said land to meet the demands against him if necessary. Likewise, I make and constitute and appoint Wm.
A. Wilmot, Thornton Sudduth to be my Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed
my name and affixed my seal this 9th of November A D 1869
