In the name of Almighty God Amen I John Mullin Reading Senr through the abundance Mercy and goodness of God of sound memory and understanding do constitute, this my
last will and testament and desire it may be received by all it may concern. Impremis, I give my body to the Earth from whence it was taken in full assurance of its Resurrection
at the last day as for my burial I desire it plain and decent. As for my worldly Estate In the first place it is my will & desire that the tract of land containing 300 acres whereon my
son Samuel George and Joseph now lives shall be divided into three equal parts in the manner that their unkle George laid it off some years ago a plat of which is among my
papers. The western division I leave and bequeath unto Joseph the middle to Samuel and the Eastern to George with all the appurtenances hereunto belonging. As to my other
farm that myself and George Williams lives on containing 83 acres it is my will and desire that it shall be divided into two parts by a line running from east to East to West through
the tract in the manner following Beginning at a stone set in the ground it being South East corner thence running North along the East line one and a half pole past the center on
middle of Sd line thence west through the tract to the west fence of orchard thence north so far that a west course striking Elisha Herndons East line will include 43 acres and
running from thence South along Herndons line to the South west corner thence East to the Beginning this south division. I devise to my John P. Reading and Robert Hamilton
and their heirs and devises in trust for the sole and separate use of my Daughter Polly McQuiddy during her marriage with her present husband and at his death if she survive him
then this trust to go to her children the two that is now living with her at her death. But while this trust exist the estate is to be held free from the control of her husband or the
reach of his creditors. And the said trustee during the existence of this trust may at her request and desire sell and convey said estate at a fair price and still keep and dispose
of the price thereof for her sole and separate use as before directed. The balance of the trust supposed to be forty acres be it more or less is to go to my Daughter Elizabeth with
all its appurtenances hereunto belonging as for my other movable property I give and bequeath unto my son John my Books and case pamphlets and maps likewise my silver
stock Knee buckles and sleave buttons and silver pencil, to my son Geo my shaving box straps, and raizors I give and bequeath unto my virtuous and loving wife the sorrel mare
called Moxley and all my cattle sheep and hoggs, the Bruro Beads and bedsteads table and stand and cubbord and what other small movables articles may be and to my
Daughter Elizabeth my loom and tackling that belongs to it and whereas I gave to my son Joseph a note for forty Dollars for services rendered on the farm some time previous
to the date of the note and as he has fell in my debt for rent as per article and Book accounts up to the year 1832 and upon a settlement with my executors and a balance found
due him, he is to be paid by sons Samuel, George and himself and what other small debts I may owe are to be paid by Sam Geo and Joseph in consideration of their having the
most or greatest Quantity of land left them and I do hereby nominate and appoint my friend Nathaniel Richardson Charles Julian and Samuel my son my Executors of this my last
will and testament revolking and disannulling all others heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of June one thousand eight
hundred and thirty one.
