I, William S. Moss, of the county of Franklin and State of Kentucky, being of sound mind, but in bad health, and knowing the uncertainty of life, do make and ordain this my last will and testament revoking all other, this 27th of January, One thousand eight hundred and forty nine. Item 1 --- That after my death, it is my will that a---? of my estate, out of the perishable property which my wife can wish I have, those shall be sold to pay my just debts and my burial expenses and after which my wife, Nancy Moss, shall enjoy the benefit of the residue, both real and personal, during her widowhood. Item 2----- It is my will after my said wife ceases, to be my widow by marriage, by death, the brilliance? of my estate and the increase of the same shall be sold and out of which I will to William T. Moss, my oldest son, twenty dollars which is as much as I can afford or intend to give him, and the residue of my said estate to be equally divided among my five named heirs. To Elizabeth Moss one fifth to Mary Ellen Moss, one fifth to John Jesse Moss, one fifth to Robert Franklin Moss, one fifth, to Alitha Ann Moss, the remaining fifth. Have as witnessed my hand this day and date above written.
