I, Alexander Macey, of Franklin County and state of Kentucky, being infirm in body but of sound mind, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all

others by me heretofore made; First I lend to my wife Penelope Macey to hold, use and enjoy during her natural life the tract of land whereon I now live will all its appurtenances

together with two hundred and fifty acres adjoining it to be laid off in the most convenient manner in the survey, I bought of Constant Perkins and so as to do the least injury to

the residue of land that I own in said Perkins survey. I also lend to my wife as aforesaid all my household table and kitchen furniture, my stock of all kinds, and all my farming

utensils and the following negroes, towit: Gabriel and his wife with all their children, a negro girl named Lucy, to hold and use during her life as aforesaid. The crops growing

when this takes effect, except the tobacco. I also give to my wife together with all provisions laid in for family use.

2nd. To my daughter Sally Macey owing to her feeble constituation, I give one thousand dollars at her mothers death to be paid her in negroes from the lot above named, to be

alloted and valued by me executor.

3rdly. To my grandson Leander Long, I give a negro boy now in Woodford County being the younger of Lucy's two sons, to be given him at the death of Mrs. Turpin, who holds

said negro during her life. Also, I give him one bed and furniture.

4th. I desire and bequeath the whole of my estate both real and personal of every description including the property lent to my wife as aforesaid after her death as well as all

my other lands, town lots and slaves or whatever else I own or may hereafter acquire to Silas M. Noel, John Morris and Jepetha Dudley executors and trustees of this my last

will, to have and to hold the same an trust for the following uses and purposes towit,

First, to pay all my just debts.

Secondly, to pay the following legacies towit; To my son, Leander Macey, three thousand dollars, To my son Jefferson Macey, three thousand dollars. To my daughter Sally

Macey, three thousand dollars in addition to the legacy already given to her in this will. And, whatsoever residue may be left after paying the debts and legacies aforesaid, my

will and desire is after my estate is fully settled that the residue or remainder thereof be equally divided between the following children, to wit; Alexander R. Macey, Leander

Macey, Jefferson Macey, Mary Sullenger and Sally Macey my trustees aforesaid or any two of them are hereby fully authorized and empowered to sell and to convey the whole

or any part of the estate devised to them as aforesaid in trust on such terms and in such manner as they deem most expedient in order to effect the trust hereby confided to the.

My desire is that the following negroes be first sold, Isaac, Dick, Sam and Adam and that George be hired out from year to year while he lives for the benefit of my estate. My

son Charles has already received his portion of my estate and my desire is that he should pay his note I hold for about eight hundred dollars and that my executors apply that

money to the purchase of young negroes belonging to my estate for the benefit of my wife during her life and then to be disposed of and distributed (by sale) in money as a part

of the residue of my estate to the same children in equal portions. My daughter Kitty Long has received her portion of my estate. To my son Gustavus T. Macey __ the tract

of land whereon he resides with its appurtenances (which tract not included with the property devised in trust as aforesaid) upon condition that he pays to my executors the sum

of eight hundred dollars which he owes, and also the further sum of whatever may be due me of twelve hundred dollars which he was to pay for the rent of my estate in the year

1818 and for the year 1819. It is to be understood that three fourths of the orchard on this tract is reserved for the use of my family till he ___ one of the same size and extent as

that was when he received it in possession on which is to be plowed and reused on the tract wheron I now live and to be of the best selected fruit. My desire is that Gustavus

should not be ___ to pay the above sums speedily, but that he should be accountable for the interest thereon as well as principal. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and

seal this 30th day of May in the year eighteen hundred and twenty two.

Codicil to the foregoing will. The tract of land devised to Gustavus I T. Macey is to include all the land he now has in possession, part of which I purchased of John Harl and the

balance which is about tow hundred acres, I bought from Constantine Perkins, making in the whole tract devised to him as aforesaid about seven hundred acres. Signed and

sealed this 31st day of May 1822.
