I William Ballard knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of Death do make this my last will and testament.
Item 1st My two negro boys Henry and Anthony my will is that they be hired out until they arrive at the age of twenty one years and the profits arising thereupon
to be appropiated to the support of my infant child Sarah Ann Elizabeth Ballard and then they are to be Free.
Item 2nd I do hereby appoint my wife Polly W. Ballard my father Johnson Ballard and Thomas Jett . . . any two of them to settle my unsettled accounts collect
the money due to me and pay all my just debts funeral Expenses, and to carry into effect this my last will and testament. Signed with my own hand this 18th day
of August 1823.
