Robert was the son of Henry W. Taylor and Paulina (Braye) Taylor, and his wife Mary Ellen was the daughter of Phillip Little and Celia (Osborn) Little.
They are buried in the Taylor Cemetery in Malaga, Wolfe County, Kentucky.
