Obituary: Sparks, Thomas - Monday, November 7, 2005 From the Wilmington News-Journal Submitted by: Norma Adams ********************************************************************** Thomas Sparks, 74, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord and Savior at 6:10 p.m. Monday (Nov. 7, 2005) at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Mae Sparks. He is survived by his second wife, Beatrice Sparks. Mr. Sparks was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Irvine, Ky., son of the late Thomas and Hazel Stanley Sparks. He retired in 1993 from Senco Products after 20 years. He was a member of the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. He played and enjoyed bluegrass music. In addition to his second wife, he is survived by a son, Dale (Carmen) Sparks; a daughter, Sheila (David) Chesney; a sister, Mollie Estes; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a stepson, Mark (Donna) Baker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; and a stepdaughter, Rita Ann Baker. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Pastor David VanHoose and the Rev. Michael Barthel officiating, with entombment in Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
