OBITUARY: Maxwell, Oleta, January 1, 2004, Middletown Journal, Middletown, Ohio From: "Deb Morrison"   Date: January 1, 2004 Oleta M. Maxwell Mrs. Oleta Marie (Cannoy) Osborne Maxwell, 77, of Monroe, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Middletown, on Feb. 28, 1926, to parents Harl B. and Fern (Lawson) Cannoy. Oleta was raised in Frenchburg, Ky., and graduated from Frenchburg High School in 1943. After high school, she attended Union College in Barbourville, Ky. She graduated from Miami University with a bachelor of science degree in education in 1964. She taught in the Middletown School System for more than 20 years. The majority of that time was spent atCreekview Elementary School. She always taught first and second grade and loved the children. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Maxwell in May, 2003; her parents; a son, Joseph Paul Osborne; and a sister, Patricia Ann Slusher. Oleta is survived by two grandsons, Bradley Osborne of Lebanon, Ohio, and Jonathan (Christina) Osborne of Missouri; three great grandchildren, Caleb, Jessalyn, and Jaycee; a great-niece, Donette (David) Bowers; and a great-nephew, Danny (Linda) Slusher. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson- Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Drive, with the Rev. Stan Gockel officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
