SALLEY DIES IN OHIO Mrs. Lillie Salley, 74, died at Franklin, Ohio, Nov. 29 at the home of her daughter, Christine Gillenwater after an illness of nine years. She was a native of Wolfe County and a resident of the Trent Community. Her husband, Jack Salley, died in 1959. Also surviving are two sons, Kash Salley, Santa Anna, Cal., and Robert Salley, Atlanta, Ga., four daughters, Mrs. Carmie Handy, Campton; Mrs. Flora Hedden, Opla Locka, Fla., Mrs. Christine Gillenwater, Fairborn, O., and Mrs. Gladys McDonald, Bellbrook, O., a brother, Lloyd Stamper, Denniston; 25 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were held at 1 a.m. Saturday at the McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Ratliff officiating. Burial was in the Butler County Memorial Park. Note: There were two living sons omitted from this obit. James and Everett of Franklin, Ohio. Per son Chester's obit in 1958, he had brothers, James and Everett of Franklin, Ohio. Also, Carmie Salley Handy was not Lillie Stamper's daughter. Menifee Jack Salley was first married to Nettie Clark (Hazel Green Clark's). Carmie was Jack and Nettie's daughter, and Lillie's stepdaughter. Menifee Jackson "Jack" Salley and Lillie Mae Stamper had the following children: +2 i. Chester Lee Salley (born on January 28, 1913). 3 ii. Roy Salley died on January 18, 1915. +4 iii. Everett Salley (born on December 7, 1918). 5 iv. Laura Salley died in 1920. +6 v. Flora Alice Salley (born on October 9, 1921). +7 vi. James Vernan Salley (born on May 26, 1923). +8 vii. Kash Salley (born on March 21, 1924). +9 viii. Christina Virginia Salley (born on November 2, 1927). +10 ix. Gladys Mae Salley (born on December 16, 1930). 11 x. Robert Lee Salley was born on July 26, 1934.1 He died on April 16, 1971 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was buried in Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. He was married to Nettie Clark (daughter of William Clark and (unknown)). Nettie Clark was born in 1883. She died on May 28, 1909. She was buried in Cox's Mill Cemetery, Toliver, Wolfe County, Kentucky. Menifee Jackson "Jack" Salley and Nettie Clark had the following children: +12 i.
