OBITUARY: Childers, Irene, January 7, 2004, Middletown Journal, Middletown, Ohio From: vivianmoon@juno.com Date: January 7, 2004 Irene Childers Mrs. Irene Childers, 81, of Middletown, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004. She was born on Jan. 28, 1922, in Lansaw, [Landsaw, Wolfe County], Ky., and had lived in Middletown, Ohio since 1957. Irene was a homemaker and a member of the Community Chapel in Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Childers in 1987; her parents, John and Magdalene Tibbs; a daughter, Elith Mullins in August, 2001; a great-grandson, Xavier; brothers Frank and Albert Tibbs; an infant brother, Herbert H. Tibbs; and sisters Ruby Boyd and Edith Georgia. Mrs. Childers is survived by three sons, William (Charlene) Childers of Somerville, Ohio, Earl (Debbie) Childers of Middletown and Pastor James D. (Pamela) Childers of Mason, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Sue, Ronnie, Amy, Rachel, Mindy, Billy, Lori, Jodie, Tanya, Ryan and Vanessa; seven great-grandchildren, Derron, Bethanie, Noah, Cecilia, Michael, Dalton and Brandon; four brothers, Lee (Shirley) Tibbs of Eastlake, Ohio, John ⤦J.B.� Tibbs of West Elkton, Ohio, Richard (Janet) Tibbs of Trenton, Ohio, and Bobby (Bonnie) Tibbs of Lansaw, Ky.; three sisters, Elsie Herz of Gig Harbor, Wash., Lou Georgia of Carlisle, Ohio, and Ann (Don) Moon of Trotwood, Ohio. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastors James Brewer and Michael Carmody officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
