He was born June 17, 1935 in Helechawa, KY, the son of the late, Edison & Lana (Taulbee) Dykes. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cora B. Dykes; brothers, Waldo, Dwight, & Everett Dykes. Survivors include his daughter, Marcella (James) Baker, step-daughter, Patricia (Nelson) Walker; grandson, Tyler Baker; brothers, Deweese (Dearl) Dykes & Denzil (Phyllis) Dykes, and sisters, Emma Jean (Jerry) Beasley & Dora Lane (Don) May. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 PM until the time of services.
