Obituary:  Nichols, Alma L. (Trent),  died - Friday, April 15, 2005

Alma L. Nichols, 80, formerly of 7376 S. 150 E, Poneto, Indiana, 
died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Swiss Village Retirement Community, 
Berne, Indiana.  Prior to 1989, she resided in rural Willshire, Ohio 
or 17 years.

She was born June 25, 1924, in Wolfe County, Kentucky, to the late 
Robert Lee and Virginia (ROAK) TRENT.  On November 26, 1943, 
she married Russell NICHOLS; and he died in 1989.

Mrs. NICHOLS was a home-maker and helped on the family farm.  
She attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are six children, Fred TRENT of Craigville, Indiana, 
Russell NICHOLS, JR, and Glenn NICHOLS, both of Berne, Indiana, 
Brenda VORE and Treva BETZ, both of rural Poneto, and Janet 
FULLER of Ossian, Indiana; two brothers, Robert TRENT of Stanton, 
Kentucky, and Ralph TRENT of Clay City, Kentucky; a sister, Eva 
DONGIEUX of Lake Forest, California; 12 grandchildren; and five 
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, James E. BETZ, a 
brother, Conley TRENT; and a sister, Ruby SHANNON.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 17, at Thoma/Rich, 
Hewit & Chaney Funeral Home, Bluffton, Indiana.  Burial was 
in Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio.
