Obituary: Tyra, Cecil - Sunday, June 25, 1978 Wolfe County News - July 1978 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** RITES SPOKEN FOR CECIL TYRA Cecil Tyra, 27, died at approximately 9:00 a.m. Sunday, June 25, at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington after an illness of nearly four years. He was a native of Wolfe County, a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, and was employed at the Copeland Incorporated Plant in Ohio. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tyra of Route 2 Campton; three brothers, Delmer, Monroe, and Lloyd Tyra, all of Route 1 Campton; two sisters, Mrs. Delcie Dickey of Bethany and Miss Delphia Tyra of Louisville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the Rosedale Church on Stillwater, with Rev. Omer Spencer and Rev. Arnold Creech officiating. Music was by the Gospel way Singers, and burial was in the Tyra Cemetery.
