LITTLE, FORMER WOLFE SHERIFF DIES George E. Little, 53, native of Wolfe County, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington. He was a foreman of the State Highway Department in Wolfe County, a farmer, member of the Pine Branch Baptist Church and a Mason. He served four years as high sheriff of Wolfe County and while in the line of duty was wounded in a gun battle with robbers who broke into farmer's and Traders Bank, Campton. He never fully recovered from these wounds. He also was jailer of Campton for four years. Native of Valeria, he was the son of the late Smith Little and Callie Little. He is survived by his wife, Nannie Little of Campton; four sons, Jimmy of Dayton, Roger and Marvin of Campton, and Paul Little of Middletown, Ohio; two daughters, Joann and Norma at home, one sister, Burnette Whiter____ of Pittsburgh, Ohio; one brother, Ray Little of Dayton, Ohio, and one grandchild. ******************************************************************** These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
