HOBBS, 76 PASSES IN LEE Ezekiel Preston Hobbs, 76, husband of Chloe Chrisman Hobbs, of Route 2, Beattyville, died suddenly at his home Sunday morning. He had been in ill health for several months. He was a son of the late Dr. W.H. and Myrtle Cable Hobbs, was a native of Lee County, a retired salesman, and member of the Jehovah Witness Church. Other survivors besides his wife include two sons, Harrison Hobbs, Dublin, Virginia, and Eugene Hobbs, Radford, Virginia; six daughters, Mrs. Thelma Lumpkins and Mrs. Fern Banks, both of Route 2 Beattyville, Mrs. Mavis Collier of Redford, Virginia, and Mrs. Marie Collier of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Geneva Kiser of Vienna, Virginia, and Mrs. Reva Chappell, Freetown, West Africa; two brothers, Sherman Hobbs, Hazard, and Finley Hobbs, Route 2, Beattyville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Larraine Crutchfield, Hazard, and Mrs. Opal Gaines, Lexington; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, at the Porter and Son Funeral Home in Campton. Burial was in the Hobbs Cemetery on Big Andy Ridge.
