Obituary: Lane, Effie Culbertson - Sunday, August 8, 1976 Wolfe County News - August 13, 1976 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** EFFIE LANE, 86, OF HAZEL GREEN DIES AUGUST 5 Effie Culbertson Lane, 84, of Hazel Green, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, August 8, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty after an 18 day illness. She was a daughter of the late Ranie and Sarah Centers Culbertson, a native of Wolfe County and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, Dorsie Lane of Maytown, Doyle Lane of Lexington, Orville Lane of Campton, Reece Lane of Papuma Valley, California, and Ellis Lane; three daughters, Mrs. Carmie Creech of Versailles, Mrs. Alma Gibbs of Hazel Green, and Mrs. Edith Moore of Rogers; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Tolson of Middletown, Ohio; 31 grandchildren, and a large number of great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am. Tuesday, August 10 at the Porter and Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Casey Helton and Rev. Stanley Lykins officiating. Burial was in the Culbertson Cemetery at Valeria, Funeral arrangements by Porter and Son Funeral Home.
