He was drowned in New Jersey, while in swimming. He was a soldier in the U.S. Army. Two years ago he served several months overseas. He then worked in Cleveland for several months and was married December 1948. Jan. 1, 1949 he reinlisted in the army. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelen Tibbs, of Cleveland, O., his father and mother of Landsaw, five brothers and six sisters, Frank Tibbs of Cleveland, O., Lee, J.B., Richard and Bobbie of Landaw, Mrs. Earl Childers of Cleveland, O., Mrs. Eddie Georgia of Cleveland, O., Mrs. Junior Herz of Dayton, O., Mrs. Elzie Childers of Landsaw, Misses Edith and Anna Tibbs at home. Grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Taulbee of Landsaw, and a number of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends, to note his passing away. Funeral services were in charge of Hearne Funeral Home at his father's home on Landsaw, at 10:30 a.m. June 20. Rev. Willie Taylor and Rev. John Dalton officiated at the service with prayers by Mrs. Lula Brewer and beautiful songs furnished by the choir. Burial followed in the family cemetery.
