LOVELACE, FORMERLY OF WOLFE, DIES Maynard Lovelace, Sr., of Alexandria, Virginia and formerly of Wolfe County, died at 4:45 p.m., Saturday, January 25. He had been in ill health for a number of years. He was a native of Wolfe County, a former sheriff of Lee County, and produce manager of a chain grocery in Ohio. He was a son of the late George W. and Anna Lykins Lovelace, and a former member of the Odd Fellows. Survivors include two sons, Maynard Lovelace, Jr., of Mt. Clemmons, Mich., and George W. Lovelace of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Tutterow, Alexandria, Virginia; one brother, Mountie Lovelace, Campton; four sisters, Mrs. Monna Cable, Mrs. John Buchanan, both of Campton, Mrs. Esther Stamper, Lexington, and Mrs. Bernice Crawford, Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Campton Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Cain officiating. Burial was in the Evans Cemetery with the Porter and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
