Obituary:, Hollon, James Edgar "Jim" - Friday, November 17, 2006 Lexington Herald-Leader - November 19, 2006 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** CAMPTON - James Edgar "Jim" Hollon, a native of Breathitt County, KY and a resident of Pine Ridge, KY, beloved husband of Nell Johnson Hollon, departed this life Fri, Nov. 17, 2006 at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 19 days at St. Joseph Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born in Breathitt County, KY on June 29, 1930 to the late George and Edna Back Hollon of Southfork in Breathitt County, KY. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 on the USS Phillipine. He worked for Universal Foods Corporation of Cincinnati, OH as an area and Southeastern Regional Manager, in addition to working as an independent contractor for home construction in the great Cincinnati, OH area, with combined employment being more than 25 years. He was an avid traveler and had traveled in all 50 states. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Campton, KY and also in Ft. Meyers, FL. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nell Johnson Hollon of Pine Ridge, KY; two step-sons, Stephen Johnson and wife Heather and Scott Johnson and wife, Kim, both of Campton, KY; one step-daughter, Rogia Lynn Denniston and husband, William of Campton, KY; step-grandchildren, Jaxper, Ginger, Brett, Kris, Colby and Zach; two sisters, Mary Risner of Campton, KY and Anita Shelton of Lexington, KY; one sister-in-law, Irene Hanks Hollon of Cincinnati, OH; three nieces and one nephew, Kaye, Karen, Kenneth and Donna; four great-nephews; four great-nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his former wife of 35 years, Mary Lou (Dee) Hollon; one brother, Loyd Bert Hollon, and his parents, George and Edna Back Hollon. Visitation will be Mon, Nov. 20, 2006 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Porter and Son Funeral Directors in Campton, KY. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tue, Nov. 21, 2006 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel with Bro. David Gross and Rev. David Rule officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Adams, William Denniston, Gill Elliott, Wiley Hollon, Scott Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Clarence Prater and Kenneth Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl may, members of the Campton United Methodist Church Adult Sunday School Class including, but not limited to: teacher, Dr. Paul Maddox, Buddy Brewer, Denzil Linkous, Dr. Richard Capps, Gene Tolson, Jack, and Butch McWhorter and Bob Miller. Burial will immediately follow at Evans Cemetery, in Campton, KY.
