Obituary: Swope, James - November 19, 1984 Wolfe County News - November 1984 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** JAMES SWOPE DIED NOV. 19 AT WINCHESTER James Swope, Sr., 89 died Nov. 19 at Clark County Hospital, Winchester, following an extended illness. Mr. Swope was a member of the Methodist Church, a former Wolfe County Farm Bureau director, and operated Swope Drug Store in Campton, for about 30 years, he also operated Grey Hound Bus Station and Restaurant and a hardware store. He retired in 1965. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Wilson, Lexington; one son, James Swope, Jr., Lexington; one sister, Katherine Sizemore, Springfield, Ohio; one brother, William Swope, Stanton; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
