WHISMAN DIES Grannie, Feb. 24 - J.W. Whisman, 71, died at his home here Sat. following an illness of several months. He was a prominent farmer of this community for his entire life. He had been a member of the Baptist church for more than 26 years. Burial services were conducted at the home Sunday by the Rev. Joe Hieronymus and the body laid to rest in the family graveyard. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cynthia Swango Whisman to who he was married in 1884. Surviving him are also 13 children, 55 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The children - six girls and seven boys - are Mrs. Clifford Trent, Beattyville; Mrs. Willie Rose, Stillwater; Mrs. Ned Morris, Fincastle, Mrs. Frailey Morris, Fincastle, Mrs. James Henry, Ezel, and Miss Lula Whisman, at home.
